Osteopathy as the key to your physical health
Osteopathy is a holistic method that uses the hands for diagnosis and treatment. The body is viewed as a single entity with the ability to heal itself. The goal of osteopathic treatment is to correct blockages in structures and tissues to restore physical well-being. Osteopathic treatments are suitable for babies, children, and adults, and for treating and alleviating discomfort in all physical conditions.

When is osteopathy used?
Osteopathy offers a holistic approach to treating acute and chronic conditions. It is used to treat dysfunctions throughout the body that cause pain or other symptoms. By promoting mobility of joints, muscles, blood vessels, and nerves, the body's self-healing process is stimulated.
Classic areas of application include back and joint pain, as well as functional organ disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome. Osteopathy can also provide support for systemic problems such as ADHD or burnout. Suitable for people of all ages.
How do osteopaths work?
Osteopaths work exclusively with their hands and require detailed knowledge of anatomy, embryology, physiology, and biomechanics. They identify limitations in the body and support the natural healing process by applying gentle and painless techniques.
The examination begins with a discussion about current and past complaints, as well as past events, surgeries, inflammation, accidents, activities, and usual diet. The entire body is then examined to identify restricted areas and their impact on the rest of the body. Treatment focuses on releasing blockages and restoring natural freedom of movement.

The goal of the initial examination is to identify restricted areas and their impact on the rest of the body. This then determines the appropriate treatment steps. The next steps will be discussed after at most four or five sessions.
Where does osteopathy come from?
Osteopathy was founded in the 19th century in the United States by Dr. Andrew Taylor Still. After personally losing his three children to meningitis, he decided to reexamine the concept of illness. He recognized that dysfunctions in body mechanics not only cause local discomfort but can also affect distant structures, including internal organs. He developed a method for restoring physical mobility—osteopathy.
At the beginning of the 20th century, osteopathy came to Great Britain, where Dr. Martin Littlejohn founded the first European school. Since then, the method has spread throughout Europe. Switzerland introduced osteopathy as a recognized profession in 2007.
